Digital Illustration | 12x12 | $25.00. This piece reflects more complex aspects of the migrant experience, such as the pressure of familial expectations and personal isolation. It is a self-portrait surrounded by hands, representing the feeling of being trapped between the responsibilities of being the first direct member of my family to attend college in the United States, and the loneliness I felt from lacking networks beyond my immediate family. The work was reconfigured from a watercolor created at the height of the pandemic, during my second semester of college, when the world seemed to be falling apart.
